Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
An excellent 1992 that reveals impressive concentration, this vintage of Ducru boasts fine structure, as well as an attractive berry-scented, floral nose. Rich and authoritative, with firm tannin, medium body, and a spicy, long finish. This is one of the most complete wines of the vintage.

Although it is a 1992, this bottle was very much alive and evolved over 3 hours or more without problems. Elegant and neat aromas and flavours of earth, menthol, gravel, cassis, flowers and dried fruits. Its medium-bodied nicely concentrated and elegant freshly fruited palate has decent persistence and a medium length understated finish. A nice surprise.

Jean-Marc Quarin
Red. Bright. Dark reflections. Medium intensity. Clean. Medium intensity. Reserved. Fresh. Liquorice. Vegetal touch. Soft attack developing on a flowing and fruity structure, with a light body, which evolves with finesse and lightness towards a finish with soft, savoury tannicity. It's good and above all not dry.

Château Ducru Beaucaillou
Château Ducru Beaucaillou

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the most illustrious estates in the Saint-Julien appellation, classified as Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Located on the deep gravel soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou owes its name to the "beautiful pebbles", these characteristic quartz stones that ensure perfect drainage and ideal thermal retention, essential conditions for the ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Founded in the 18th century and acquired by the Borie family in 1941, the estate is now run by Bruno-Eugène Borie, who has profoundly strengthened the stylistic identity of this cru. Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has established itself as one of the most refined signatures of Saint-Julien, sought after for the precision of its aging, the exceptional quality of its fruit and the nobility of its tannins.

The vineyard sits on Günzian gravel ridges among the finest in the Médoc. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Merlot, the blend produces wines of great depth, combining density, freshness and structure. The impeccably controlled aging in French oak barrels supports the structure without masking the expression of the terroir.

Vintages such as Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1982, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1995, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1996, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2005, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2003 or Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2014 illustrate the consistency and exceptional aging potential of the estate, now regarded as a major reference among the great collectible wines of Bordeaux.
