Vertdevin April - 2021
Vertdevin
The nose is elegant, precise, finely tight, racy and offers concentration, power, a beautiful definition and deepness. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, quite ripe cassis and small notes of dry wild strawberry associated with touches of violet, lily, nutmeg as well as hints of underwood, timut pepper, fine hints of camphor and tobacco. The palate is beautifully built, full of balance and offers juiciness, freshness, gourmandize, an acidulous frame, tension, a beautiful fullness, a beautiful finesse of the grain, richness as well as a beautiful definition, power (full of control/finesse) and deepness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, quite ripe wild blackberry and small notes of dry wild strawberry associated with touches of small black berries, amphor, violet, nutmeg as well as hints of underwood, tobacco, nutmeg, discreet hints of bergamot and an imperceptible hint of truffle. Tannins are precise, elegant, racy and structuring. Good length and persistence. An imperceptible almost saline hint in the finish/persistence.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Cos d'Estournel unfurls slowly, measuredly, releasing delicate notes of dried mulberries, stewed plums and blackcurrant pastilles before giving way to notions of potpourri, black cherry compote and chocolate box plus touches of dried sage, tobacco and new leather. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid foundation of very firm, grainy tannins and very lively acidity supporting the remarkable intensity of tightly wound fruit layers, finishing very long and fragrant.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Still young, but even at this early stage, it is impossible not to be wowed by this wine. The layers of depth, intensity, richness, power, and finesse are almost off the charts. The black fruits are perfectly ripe, opulent, flamboyant, and fresh, as well as balanced, pure, and refined. This is a great vintage for Cos that will start showing its best with a few more years of age.

Falstaff March - 2013
Falstaff
Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle brightening of the edges, intense black berry fruit, attractive, ripe plums are underlaid, a hint of nougat and cocoa, delicate caramel, subtle hints of dried fruit. Very powerful, sweet and full-bodied, dark nougat, well embedded, tannins present, pleasant sweetness. Freshly structured, oranges in the aftertaste, very good future potential, chocolatey aftertaste, fine extract sweetness in the aftertaste.

Another impressive vintage for Cos, following the amazing 2009. Tremendous wine that combines great concentration, freshness with layers of dark fruit flavors and spices. Tasted alongside the 2009, I had a slight preference for the 2010 because of its freshness and linear focus.
