Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
A beautiful example of the vintage, proprietor Michel Reybier and his top-notch winemaker, Jean-Guillaume Prats, have fashioned an exceptional wine displaying a dense rubypurple color as well as a sweet perfume of boysenberries, black currants, cherries, pain grille, roasted herbs, and licorice. Medium-bodied with impressive density for the vintage, sweet tannin, and outstanding richness and length,

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
One of the better wines of the vintage, here you find a medium-bodied, soft, round, open, currant and herb filled wine with notes of earth, smoke, espresso, black cherry and a round textured finish. Not as long or deep as you find in the better years, but there a lot of class and charm that's already on full display

Dark crimson. Fresh and lively with quite tough, dry tannins on the end. Not quite enough fresh fruit on the palate.

Loads of currant and blackberry, with hints of Indian spices. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Round and generous for the vintage. Best after 2011.

Château Cos D'Estournel
Château Cos D'Estournel

Château Cos d'Estournel is one of the most emblematic estates of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux. Classified as Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it owes its unique identity to its location on the hill of Cos and to the bold vision of its founder, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, a prominent figure of the 19th century nicknamed the "Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe".

From its beginnings, Cos d'Estournel established itself through a rare international ambition for the time, exporting its wines as far as Asia. This openness to the world is still reflected today in the château's unique architecture, inspired by the Far East, a true visual signature in the Médoc. The vineyard is based on a terroir of deep gravel mixed with clay, benefiting from the proximity of the Gironde estuary, giving the wines structure, depth and complexity.

Emblematic vintages: Cos d'Estournel 1947, Cos d'Estournel 1952, Cos d'Estournel 1953, Cos d'Estournel 1961 or Cos d'Estournel 1996, Cos d'Estournel 2002, Cos d'Estournel 2005, Cos d'Estournel 2010
