This year is characterized by irregular weather conditions. The harvest was delayed and difficult due to the frequent rains. Fortunately, it was cold and the rot could not develop.
Château Margaux 1987 is undeniably a great wine, characterized by great finesse and aromatic complexity. This classified growth is elegant, rare and mature. It has reached its peak, it should be drunk, but without rushing.

(9-1992). Bordeaux red. Light intensity. Bright with black reflections. Nose. Clean. Medium intensity. Fine and empyreumatic with still a note of cedar. Swirling. Clean. Medium intensity. Animal touch. Fine. Soft attack developing on a light structure, oval in shape, with well-balanced but particularly aromatic tannins. As a result, the finish is long although the wine is not fleshy. Well made with the hallmark of the cru.

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious estates of the Margaux appellation and a major historical figure of Bordeaux excellence. Classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the official 1855 classification, the château draws on a terroir of fine, deep gravels that encourages the expression of a wine of rare elegance and great aromatic complexity.

The Grand Vin de Château Margaux has been recognised since the 17th century as one of the most accomplished expressions of the Bordeaux vineyard. It owes its qualities to the combination of an exceptional terroir, demanding viticulture and a winemaking approach oriented towards precision and balance. The finesse of the tannins, the aromatic depth, the freshness and the length on the palate are the constant hallmarks of the Margaux style.

The great vintages punctuate its history, from the 1953 wine, then the 1982 vintage to the 1990 and the 2000 vintage, through to the 2015, regarded as one of the estate's recent pinnacles. Le Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, the second wine, offers a more immediate interpretation. They illustrate the estate's ability to produce wines of great complexity, capable of evolving harmoniously over several decades, whilst retaining a remarkable clarity of their terroir.
