Dark red colour. Average to good intensity. Medium intensity nose. Discreet. Barely fruity in this sample. The tasting of the 2001 vintage at the end of ageing as well as this one confirm that something is progressing in this vintage which until then was too simple and rather unworthy of the AOC. The palate of the 2002 is light in style but has avoided coarse tannins. There is still work to be done to flesh out the plot.

Château informations
Château Chasse-Spleen is a 105-hectare wine estate. Chasse-Spleen produces one of the most remarkable wines of the Médoc, and certainly of the Moulis en Médoc appellation. The Château is classified as exceptional crus bourgeois in the first edition of the crus bourgeois classification. Established on four plots of quaternary gravel planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot,
The best vintages of Château Chasse-Spleen are 1929, the 1943 wines, 1945 wines, the 1949 vintage and 1953 vintage. The 1982 and 1985 vintages are exceptional and the 1989 wines, 2000 vintage and 2009 are exceptional years.
