Wine Spectator
(3-2005) Blackberry and chocolate with hints of toasted oak. Medium-bodied, with good tannins and a medium, fruity finish. Not quite as impressive as the 2001, but well done.

(3-2006) This smooth way of entering the mouth constitutes the most endearing quality of this wine. Flavourful, well-structured, sappy, it finishes fairly long on fine tannins that still need to melt.

Château Cantenac Brown
Château Cantenac Brown
Since 2006, a policy of sustainable cultivation has been implemented throughout the vineyard. The wines of Cantenac Brown are produced on stony lands in the south of the village on a typical Médoc gravel soil. The average age of Cantenac Brown vines is 35 years, with a planting density of 8,500 to 10,000 vines per hectare, and a yield of 45 hectoliters per hectare. The grape variety composition of Cantenac Brown consists of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, which produce wines with an intense bouquet, suitable for aging.
