Cellar Tracker January - 2018
Cellar Tracker
Light brownish with a nice core of brick red. Mature aromas of dried fruit (cherries), black tea leaves, dry wood and an iron streak. Not very intense, but elegant. Medium bodied, has clearly lost some fruit even if it still has a core of dried fruit and tea/tobacco. Dry aftertaste that also has a quite metallic feel to it. More interesting than really good, but it is still fascinating to drink something that is more than 30 years old and is still alive.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 1986 displays both power and elegance in a medium- to full-bodied format. The colour is deep ruby, and on the palate, the wine exhibits classic blackcurrant fruit, with a toasty, spicy oak component. This foursquare, somewhat monolithic wine does not lack tannin.

Château Cantenac Brown
Château Cantenac Brown
Since 2006, a policy of sustainable cultivation has been implemented throughout the vineyard. The wines of Cantenac Brown are produced on stony lands in the south of the village on a typical Médoc gravel soil. The average age of Cantenac Brown vines is 35 years, with a planting density of 8,500 to 10,000 vines per hectare, and a yield of 45 hectoliters per hectare. The grape variety composition of Cantenac Brown consists of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, which produce wines with an intense bouquet, suitable for aging.
