Medium dark red color. Tobacco and ripe dark fruit aromatics. Soft ripe fruit entry and mid-palate. Excellent Graves definition. Ready to drink, but no need to hurry.

Jean-Marc Quarin March - 2007

Beautiful dark colour, slight evolution. The nose of the undecanted wine smells of undergrowth. The decanted wine is more complex, fruitier and smokier, superb and still fresh. On the palate, the wine shows itself tender, silky and very fruity in the middle. Caressing, juicy, it evolves tannic and very flavourful on the finish. Smoky taste, constantly accompanied by blackberry. Well-constructed wine, different from second wines but absolutely delicious. A fine success.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Tannic, youthful, austere, full bodied, strict style of wine, with a beguiling nose of tobacco, cigar store, burning wood and red berries. Concentrated and tannic, this is classic in every sense of the word. Another decade might help soften things out, but that is a very long to wait for this to come around.

Not quite as impressive as I remember. Slightly herbal, with dried cherry and berry aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, with firm tannins and a green tobacco-tasting, silky-textured finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
One of the finest La Tour-Haut-Brions over the last 15 years, the 1995 offers a heady perfume of coffee beans, tobacco, spice, smoke, grilled herbs, and sweet red and black fruits. It is long and round, with copious quantities of red currants, as well as good underlying acid, which gives the wine definition, and a spicy, lush, sweet finish with light but noticeable tannin.

Château La Mission Haut Brion
Château La Mission Haut Brion

Château la Mission Haut-Brion is a wine estate located in Talence, Gironde. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wine classification. The estate was purchased in 1983 by the Dillon family, owners of Haut Brion. It is undoubtedly this propensity to give everything at once that distinguishes the wines of La Mission Haut-Brion and attracts many tasters. It is also the heightened expression of the Graves de Pessac terroir. During its ageing process and as it matures, Mission Haut-Brion is always generous, constantly revealing itself fully. The hedonistic side of Mission Haut-Brion and the consistency of these qualities are particularities that make it very appealing. La Chapelle de la Mission Haut Brion is the estate's second wine.
