Dark, intense and evolved colour. Discreet nose, fruity and truffle-scented. Tender, sappy, melting palate, with flavour and a subtly woody spiced note on the finish. Very fine, savoury length. A remarkable achievement. For the record, 1998 is a very successful vintage for Merlot.

Château Haut-Marbuzet is a 61-hectare wine estate owned by the Duboscq family, located in Saint-Estèphe. It is a Médoc AOC and is classified as an exceptional Cru Bourgeois. The work of the Duboscq family has made Château Haut-Marbuzet a wine of the highest quality among Saint-Estèphe wines. Château Haut Marbuzet is also full of charm in its youth, developing wonderful spicy notes and red fruit aromas. Considered by some as the most Burgundian of Bordeaux wines, Château Haut Marbuzet was consecrated as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the Crus Bourgeois classification in June 2003.
