Dark red colour. Good intensity. Beautiful. Nose of medium intensity, fruity, ripe. Melting and airy mouth, very, very flavourful, with taste in the middle and an acceleration between the middle and the finish. Great smooth length, with lots of taste and noble, without angles. It is superb and in the new direction taken in 2017 with a higher proportion of Cabernet Franc in the blend (58% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Franc) – Alcohol level: 14.5° – pH: 3.57 (lower than usual).

Château La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière is a 22-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Émilion in the Gironde. In the Saint-Émilion AOC, it is classified as Premier grand cru classé B in the latest Saint-Émilion wine classifications of 2006. Count Léo de Malet-Roquefort is the current owner of the estate. Château la Gaffelière is located on a former medieval leper hospital, where lepers, also known as "gaffets", were treated. The grape variety composition is 66% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Château la Gaffelière is located between Pavie and Ausone, and produces a second wine from young vines (less than 15 years old) called Clos La Gaffelière from young vines
