(3-2010) Very, very dark blackish crimson. Very, very sweet and yet lively and fresh still! Maybe not as concentrated as the 1959. Rich, bright fruit.

Almost as good as the '61. Shows great class, with impressively ripe raspberry and currant aromas and very focused fruit and almost minty flavors. Medium-bodied, with integrated tannins and a fresh finish. An excellent wine.

(101994) The 1955 is one of those brilliant wines. From a chateau that tends to produce quickly maturity wines, this offering is more backward than the fully mature 1964, and even richer than the 1982 and 1990 (at least as they appear today). The 1955 offers an extraordinary fragrance of ripe plums, cassis, mint, herbs, smoke, and spices. Dense and concentrated for a Figeac, with some tannin yet to melt away.

Château Figeac
Château Figeac

Château Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Saint Emilion. Premier grand cru classé in the official Saint-Emilion classification, it is one of the most influential châteaux of the appellation. The Château also produces a second wine: La Grange Neuve de Figeac.

The wines of Château Figeac have excellent ageing potential.

The finest achievements are the 1961 vintage, 1982, the 1985 wines, grand crus from 1986. More recent Château Figeac vintages show more power, roundness and fruity notes, the 2000 vintage, the 2005 and 2009 wines are spectacular.
