Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
It has that devastatingly gorgeous bouquet that is intoxicating right from the off. Walnut, dried honey, even a hint of marmalade all with exceptional delineation. The palate is beautifully balanced with perfect acidity. There are subtle motes of citrus peel, mandarin, crushed stone and honeysuckle, but there are just distant hints of flavor because it is the tension and the precision that defined this magnificent DP. Outstanding!

Information on the vintage 1971 Champagne: Now here is a vintage! More than good, at its best the epitome of elegance. The results - at their best- were fine, crisp, stylish wines. The finest are keeping well if your taste is for mature champagne.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Yellow gold, with a hint of copper in the color, the wine maintained some, effervescence. Apples, honeysuckle, brioche, sherry and cashew nuts, silky, soft, caressing textures, with sweet, apple and citrus fruits with just a dab of honey in the finish. It was quite fun to a bottle of Dom Perignon this old.

Dom Perignon

Dom Pérignon is a legendary vintage champagne in France. In 1668, a young monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, moved the mission to create the "world's best wine". Such ambition revealed in this young monk thirty years ago, a visionary and extraordinary audacity. The engagement of Dom Perignon is that all the Champagnes must be produced only with the harvest of the same year.

The productions of Dom Pérignon were very popular at that time. When Dom Pérignon died, the price dropped somewhat, but not its popularity. The 1921 vintage is unquestionably the best vintage. Dom Pérignon champagnes are very long aging.
