Tom Cannavan January - 2018

Following the heat and tiny yields of the previous vintage, the vines responded with vigour in 2004, producing grapes generous in both quantity and quality. A 'classic' (or perhaps more accurately 'old fashioned') DP, the 2004 is leaner in style, pretty and flowery, demonstrating diffuse sweetness of fruit. Toasty aromas beginning to develop. Just coming out of its shell after an adolescent grumpy phase that many '04's have been going through, this has a bright future. On potential, 96/100. Drink 2018-2040.

Falstaff November - 2015
Falstaff
Bright yellow gold, fine, persistent mousse. Inviting, delicate aroma of hazelnut, a hint of bitter orange zest and grapefruit, notes of hay flowers, some brioche. On the palate substantial, pleasant extract sweetness, tautly structured, notes of fresh pear, citrus zest, elegant, has great length, good ageing potential, mineral aftertaste, a vintage that will be remembered for a long time.

James Suckling March - 2012

A return to regular form after the wild 2003 edition, this is business as usual in terms of the composed and complex swagger that is a hallmark of Dom. Good deep autolysis here, toasty yeasty characters wrap around a wealth of grapefruit and pithy lemon citrus notes; the chardonnay rings clear as a bell at around half of the blend. The palate has assertive, driving power and fully formed deep-seated phenolic presence with a chord of acidity steering it through a long, fresh and gently nutty finish. Classic Dom is back! Best drunk around 2019. -NS

Dom Perignon
Dom Perignon

Dom Pérignon is a legendary Champagne House and one of the most famous in the world. In 1668, a young Benedictine monk, Dom Pierre Pérignon, was appointed procurator at the Abbey of Hautvillers. With the ambition to produce the "best wine in the world", he was deeply inspired and his vision revolutionized viticulture with standards that remain the reference for all champagne wines. The House's commitment is that champagnes can only be produced from a single year's harvest.

Dom Pérignon's productions were highly prized during this period. After Dom Pérignon's death, the price decreased somewhat, but not its popularity. The 1921 vintage is undoubtedly the best vintage. Dom Pérignon champagnes can be aged for a very long time.
