To drink between 1995 and 2030
The 1985 vintage produced wines of great distinction, characterised by their aromatic intensity and well-balanced structure. The ripeness of the grapes and the harvest took place under ideal climatic conditions, thus determining the exceptional quality of the year.
However, the vineyard was severely affected by the hard frosts of winter and spring, which destroyed several thousand hectares. Subsequently, the unsettled weather hampered the flowering, which began slowly and with difficulty, but fortunately it concluded quickly thanks to the splendid weather that then settled over Champagne.
At harvest, the Pinot Noirs stand out for their fullness and suppleness. The Chardonnays, meanwhile, express subtle and persistent aromas; they make up 60% of the blend, with the remainder coming from selected Pinot Noir crus.

Château informations
Dom Pérignon is the prestige cuvée of the Moët & Chandon house, in Champagne. Born in the wake of the Hautvillers abbey, it follows a unique rule: to exist only as a vintage wine, from a single harvest year, in a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir sourced from the great terroirs around Épernay. A long ageing on lees gives it its fine bubble and its style that is at once powerful and refined.
From 1921, the very first vintage of the house, to the 2006 wine, Dom Pérignon lines up champagnes built for long ageing: the 1969, the 1993 vintage, the Dom Pérignon 1996 and the 2002 rank among the house's benchmark wines.
