expert's opinions
At full maturity, this wine sits in the stricter style range. The nose expresses with ease notes of tobacco, herbs, truffle and bright red fruits. However, the palate is a little short, giving way to soft and tangy notes of red fruits, herbs and undergrowth. With over 30 years of age, this wine is not made to last. If you have a bottle, drink it without hesitation.

Dark red colour. Good intensity. Uniform. Hint of evolution. Nose of medium intensity. Nuance of candied fruit. Hint of spice and wood. Fruit on swirling. Soft attack developing on a round-shaped structure, quite velvety, even a little soft. Very well-coated and flavoursome tannic development which leaves a finish where some woody flavours still appear. Sustained persistence, without too much complexity but it's good. An overall fluidity reminiscent of sandy soils. Can be tasted and waited for. Has completely lost its initial hardness.

Château informations
German Stephan von Neipperg has spared no effort to restore this château's former glory, which had a strong reputation in the post-World War II years. Cultivation has become more rigorous, yields have been significantly reduced, and winemaking has taken modern approaches, giving the wines remarkable concentration. The château also produces a very expensive and highly sought-after wine outside the appellation, Mondotte.
