The 1998 Riesling Clos St. Hune is a spectacular wine. It displays a magnificent aromatic purity, with complex herbal, mineral, and crisp pear scents. Medium to full-bodied, and awesomely broad, powerful, and harmonious, this tightly-wound, slate, chalk, lemon-lime, quartz, and cocoa powder-flavored wine is silky-textured and breathtakingly intense.

Yellow-green colour. Very aromatic, fine, fruity and mineral nose. On swirling, it suggests the presence of noble rot. Very fresh notes of orange. Full on the attack, the wine develops rich and aromatic. After the mid-palate, it takes on a mineral and liquorice dimension, particularly intense. Great powerful and very flavoursome length. This power surprises me. This is great wine.
