One of the all-time greats from this estate is the still inky colored 1999 Cote Rotie. From a hot year that had many vignerons struggling with vinification issues, Jean-Paul compared 1999 to 2009 more than once. Sensationally rich, concentrated and full-bodied, it reveals a classic bouquet of pepper, smoked herbs, black currants and licorice. One sexy Cote Rotie that's just hard to resist, it's drinking perfectly today but will evolve nicely for another decade or more.

Clearly in the zone, the wine screamed with its smoky nose filled with bouquet garni, sage, peppery red fruits, and raspberries, the wine is full-bodied, intense, long, zesty, and vibrant. There is length, purity, power, and character that does not want to stop. No decanting needed, just pop and pour, drink from 2022-2035.

Gorgeous nose and one that takes you straight to Northern Rhone. Nose is darker red fruits, olive tapenade, touch of florals and pepper. On the palate this shows a bit more youthfully with plenty of weight, length and fruit to balance the fine and polished tannins. There’s great acidity on the backend keeping the profile lively and vibrant. The finish is long and silky. In a great place now but has the stuffing to continue aging gracefully for many more years.

Earthy, mushroom, ripe red fruit with chocolate and coffee. Finest tannin possible. Long, fragrant and still alive with acid. Black fruit on the palate, rich on the finish. Lovely undergrowth character from the bottle age.
