Medium garnet red, lightened rim, the nose still somewhat restrained, seems cool, almost slightly herbaceous, then also with floral notes, red-fruited, hints of resin, very good complexity. On the palate soft, velvety beginning, lots of cooked strawberries, vanilla, raisins, spicy notes framed by an excellent structure. Still noticeably more flesh on the bone than the 99, definitely needs a bit more time and maturity. Very good complexity. On the finish with excellent length, wow, great cinema. Now until 2035.

Domaine Rayas is located in the southern Rhône region. Purchased in 1980 by Albert Reynaud, four generations of winemakers have succeeded in elevating this small 10-hectare family estate and producing great wines. The estate produces its wines under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

Today, Domaine Rayas is managed and directed by Emmanuel Reynaud, great-grandson of Albert Reynaud. He also operates Domaine des Tours and Fonsalette purchased by his father Jacques Reynaud several years ago. Under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, the estate cultivates Grenache grapes for red wines as well as white wines with Clairette.
