Barrel sample. An intensely ripe, fruity wine, which is already well integrated. The intense dark fruits are supported by some new wood and grainy tannins. This is powerful, and, with its acidity, should age well.

Jean-Marc Quarin January - 2007

This cru received the mention "my best score given to this cru en primeur" last year. Tasted twice during ageing, I have always appreciated its dark colour, its fruity, ripe and creamy nose. Superb palate, extremely fruity, even radiant. The wine develops powerful, flavourful, aromatic, with a very full mid-palate. Fine tannins, followed by great aromatic length. A great success for the property.

Tobacco, smoke and cigar box on the nose, the wine is medium/full bodied, with a sweet and tart, dark, red berry finish that is ready to drink. However, there is no hurry as this should remain fun to drink for at least another decade or longer.

Ruby colour with brownish tint. Blackberries, plums with tertiary notes of leather, tobacco and cedar. Harsh tannins calmed down after an hour of decanting. Fine, elegant, matured, left bank bordeaux wine from excellent vintage.

Deep dark ruby garnet, almost black core, violet reflections, in the nose dark berry compote, delicately chocolatey, blackberries resonate. On the palate powerful, fresh plum flesh, firm tannins, still appears hard, taut texture, adheres well, good development potential.

Big blackcurranty nose with a touch of raspberry brightness and cedar. Slightly dry on the palate, but perhaps will come round as there is a nice elegance and violetty blackness to the fruit.

Jancis Robinson August - 2018

Great, deep, shaded dark ruby. Certainly looks good! Quite a nervous nose – darts about all over the place. But there is obviously lots of ripe fruit here and the tannins are definitely in retreat but still making their presence felt. Cries out for food and has a little tarriness about it. Good sturdy effort, though less fun to drink now than the 2006. Solid. Will the fruit outlast the tannins?
