LOUIS LATOUR Cuvée Les quatre journaux 2005

Tasting notes: A powerful wine with a complex nose, the Romanée Saint Vivant "Les Quatre Journaux" 2005 reveals delicious aromas of spices accompanied by intense flavors of red fruits. With a very beautiful structure, it is undoubtedly a wine for laying down.

Anecdote about this vintage: The Latour family has owned part of Romanée-Saint-Vivant since December 1898. "Les Quatre Journaux" is a magnificent plot located southwest of Romanée-Saint-Vivant, a few meters from Romanée-Conti. A "Journal" is an old Burgundy measurement corresponding to approximately 0.40 hectares (34.28 ares). Although the initial purchase by the LATOUR family covered the entire plot, half of it was later resold. Today, Maison Louis LATOUR owns 0.8 hectares of Romanée-Saint-Vivant. Wine Wonderfully aromatic, with a velvety texture, it culminates in a persistent and powerful finish. It is one of the greatest red wines of the House.

Grape variety / Blend: Pinot noir 100% (variations are possible from one vintage to another)

Aging: 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 100% new barrels

Food and Wine Pairing: Duck, goose and game birds

Jancis Robinson August - 2007
Jancis Robinson
Relatively pale crimson. Aromatic and even slightly cheesy on the nose. Transparent fruit – quite delicate even. Really racy. Very different from the other wines. Not heavy at all – airborne! Lots of delicate fruit. Excellent.

Domaine Louis Latour
Maison Louis Latour Bourgogne Beautiful!. In 2009, the vine has enjoyed ideal conditions throughout its life cycle and, more particularly, at its stage of maturation, bathed in light. Sun and heat are, in fact, illustrated throughout the months of August and September, giving an extraordinary material revealed during vinification. Following these, the authenticity of this vintage is already noticeable.
