CHÂTEAU LASCOMBES 1989

Tasting notes: Combining power and elegance, smoothness and tannins, Château Lascombes is a wine of great complexity. In its youth, its depth of colour never fails to impress. The finesse and smoothness on the palate are complemented by elegant and fine tannins. Château Lascombes should be appreciated as it ages over the years to fully enjoy its aromatic complexity and the development of its increasingly suave structure in the bottle.

Grape variety/Blend: Merlot (~50%), cabernet sauvignon (~45%), petit verdot (~5%) (variations may occur from one vintage to another)

Maturity: Aged wine

Food and Wine Pairing: Beef and venison

Lots of dried cherry and ripe berry aromas. Full-bodied and round textured, with a tobacco, cedar and leather aftertaste.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Lascombes' 1989 has an aroma of roasted peanuts. A muscular, tannic wine, it exhibits a powerful, rich, alcoholic finish. I would not be surprised to see this wine turn out much better than my rating.

Slightly evolved colour. Velvety, soft. Drink now.

Earth, steel, spice, tobacco, and olives are easy to find in the perfume. The wine finishes with a light, strawberry note. Medium bodied, this wine reached full maturity years ago. Lascombes is another outstanding property currently making much better wine today than they did in `89
