Château La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière is a 22-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Émilion in the Gironde. In the Saint-Émilion AOC, it is classified as Premier grand cru classé B in the latest Saint-Émilion wine classifications of 2006. Count Léo de Malet-Roquefort is the current owner of the estate. Château la Gaffelière is located on a former medieval leper hospital, where lepers, also known as "gaffets", were treated. The grape variety composition is 66% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Château la Gaffelière is located between Pavie and Ausone, and produces a second wine from young vines (less than 15 years old) called Clos La Gaffelière from young vines
