Jean-Marc Quarin June - 2000

Intense, fine and subtle nose. Evokes sauvignon with an incredibly fresh aspect. The rum and an almost menthol note mixed with dried grapes recall grenache and sometimes riesling. Soft and extremely melting attack, developing on an airy structure with a very meticulous mouthfeel. Everything is caress and melting in this wine light as a feather, which leaves a finish reminiscent of orange zest and dried grape. Formidable balance. Great gastronomic wine.

This is a sweet wine at its perfect peak with sweet marmalade and honeysuckle flavors with its sweetness, acidity and flavors finely woven together. Long finish.

Gorgeous wine. Brilliant gold colour, dried apricot, honey and dried pineapple aromas. Full-bodied, very sweet, with a long, long finish and an intense almond and honey aftertaste.

750ml: Very expressive bright, fruit-driven nose and palate with loads of quince, grapefruit, baked apple, quite high acidity. This renders the wine into a vivid, fresh, medium complex, still quite young wine which is fun to drink but has more upside with age. Magnum: Very intense saffron, flower, peach but some alcohol notes on the nose. Quite sweet and too broad. On the palate, this shows also a bit too sweet with ripe apricot, quince, baked apple and again lots of beautiful saffron. Not the most complex one and a touch to sweet and oily. Still, quite pleasurable.
