Jancis Robinson September - 2020
Jancis Robinson
Hervé Bizeul's wines seem to have settled down over the years. Hand-harvested grapes from selected plots of 50- to 100-year-old Grenache Noir, Lladoner Pelut, Carignan and Syrah vines on limestone-clay soils are vinified in stainless steel after cold maceration. The wine is aged without racking for 12 months in one- and two-year-old barrels and bottled after fining. Savoury nose and good concentration with just a hint of some very light brett? Rich, layered and interesting. Long and exciting with masses of almost porty spice and sweetness but it's not flabby nor too potent.

Bettane et Desseauve September -
Bettane et Desseauve
A wine that plays on contradictions. Combining youthfulness with slightly evolving notes, it stands upright, taut, supple and energetic. Long on the palate, well-structured, time does its work and combines saline, floral, menthol and peppery notes with dark fruit and aromas of Havana and garrigue. To drink now or to keep a while longer, to decant in any case.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Medium ruby, violet reflections. Very intense nose, feels warm and almost slightly cooked, ripe fruit, Christmas spices, very complex. The palate is voluminous, with a powerful body, ripe fruit, the tannins are remarkably finely woven, the fruit impressive, the alcohol however noticeable though well integrated, a pleasantly long, spicy finish. Do not serve too warm.

Clos Des Fées
Clos Des Fées

Founded in 1997 in Vingrau by Hervé Bizeul, former Best Young Sommelier of France, the Domaine du Clos des Fées has become, within a generation, one of the leading names in Roussillon. Across a mosaic of old vines spread across seven terroirs in the Pyrénées-Orientales, it produces dense and fresh reds in AOP Côtes du Roussillon and IGP Côtes Catalanes, dominated by grenache, syrah, carignan and mourvèdre, as well as the cult micro-cuvée La Petite Sibérie, made from old grenache vines.

Among the estate's greatest years, the 2011 vintage and the 2012 established its reputation, the 2016 wine ranks among its finest, while the 2022 and 2023 carry the brilliance of recent harvests.
