Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2014 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru showed a little more ripeness on the nose compared to its peers, suggesting a slightly later picking than other growers. With aeration it gains more and more clarity, offering scents of potpourri, chalk and orange blossom. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, the acidity well judged but very backward and clearly requiring several years to open up. Serious Clos de Bèze for those with patience, this Bouchard ranks alongside more prestigious names and I bet is not as expensive. Chapeau.

Elegant, with intense aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, spice, and minerals, this red offers remarkable tension and concentration from start to finish. Light vegetal and undergrowth notes give it depth and a long finish.

40% new barrels. Paler than the Nuits Cailles – pale to medium ruby. The VA seems relatively high. The palate then reveals a very flattering, sweet and strangely evolved fruitiness. A hint of cinnamon. Lighter in body than one might imagine for this appellation, but it is undeniably very charming. Almost three times the ex-cellar price of Nuits Cailles. I can well imagine enjoying it this evening!

Bouchard Père Et Fils
Bouchard Père Et Fils

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest and most emblematic houses in Burgundy. Founded in 1731 in Beaune, this historic house has established itself over nearly three centuries as an essential reference for great Burgundy wines, from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits.

Owner of an exceptional estate of over 130 hectares, a significant portion of which comprises Premiers Crus and Grands Crus, Bouchard Père & Fils holds prestigious parcels such as Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus, Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, Chevalier-Montrachet, Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. This wealth of heritage gives the house a unique position in the Burgundy landscape, at the crossroads of historic négociant activity and premier wine estate.

Today part of the Artémis group (Pinault family), Bouchard Père & Fils initiated a comprehensive reflection on sustainable viticulture in 2009. Following a gradual implementation of agroecological practices, all the estate's parcels have been certified organic from the 2025 vintage onwards, reinforcing the house's commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.

The Bouchard Père & Fils style is distinguished by precise vinification, respect for climates and a constant pursuit of balance between fruit purity, structure and ageing potential. Vintages such as Bouchard Père & Fils 1982, Bouchard Père & Fils 1997, Bouchard Père & Fils 2004, Bouchard Père & Fils Blanc 2008, Bouchard Père & Fils Blanc 2009 and Bouchard Père & Fils 2014 illustrate the house's ability to produce wines of great longevity, sought after by Burgundy wine enthusiasts and collectors.
