1954 Vintage wine

1954 vintage is not a success in Bordeaux but satisfactory in Burgundy

In Bordeaux, 1954 was a difficult year. A rainy month of August as well as the following months which considerably drowned the harvest. The wines are diluted and lack richness. There are still some miraculous successes in the Medoc with the châteaux Lascombes 1954, Pichon Longueville Baron 1954 and château Siran 1954.

In Burgundy, the 1954 vintage is satisfactory in terms of quality and quantity. Good meteorological conditions throughout the year and sunshine during the harvest therefore allowed the development of great wines. The red wines are fragrant and frank in taste. The appellations that stand out are Romanée-ContiRichebourg and La Tâche.
