Our opinion on the 1925 vintage: a complicated year, but rather successful for Sauternes. In Bordeaux, the 1925 vintage is not a great success. This year was characterised by a lack of sunshine, resulting in a late harvest. In Burgundy, the 1925 vintage also experienced difficult conditions with early flowering followed by a cold summer. The quality of the grapes was affected and the wines produced that year are not considered exceptional. However, the sweet white wines of Sauternes are of rather good quality.
