Founded in the early 1980s by Marlène Soria in the hills above Saint-Pargoire, Domaine Peyre Rose is one of Languedoc’s most distinctive names. Farmed organically on limestone and clay garrigue, it makes Syrah its flagship grape variety and stands out for ageing its wines for eight to ten years before release. Its two great red cuvées, Les Cistes and Belle Léone, long associated with the AOP Coteaux du Languedoc, are joined by the Marlène cuvée and a rare white wine, Oro.
Great vintages punctuate the estate’s history, from the 1998 now at full maturity to the more recent 2012 vintage, 2014 wine and 2016, all driven by a spicy, profound Syrah built for ageing.
