In 1446, Jean and Nicolas Moët were ennobled by King Charles VII. This marked the beginning of a lineage that would later give its name to the most beautiful saga in champagne history. Claude Moët, a descendant of the Moët brothers and wine merchant in Epernay since the early 18th century, founded Moët House in 1743. His grandson Jean Rémy Moët, a pioneering and visionary spirit, would transform this trading company into the first international luxury brand, which for more than two and a half centuries has embodied and shared the genius of champagne with the entire world.
