La Revue du Vin de France
Mainly Syrah (vines aged 42 years) with a touch of Grenache (47 years). Aged 12 months in foudre then 4 months in concrete tank. Certified organic. Pure and relatively complex on the nose with spice, cherry (griotte) and garrigue notes. Lively, fresh and peppery on the palate – almost northern Rhône freshness. Chalky tannins but finely honed. Bit more depth and structure than L'Arbouse.

Mas Bruguière
Mas Bruguière

Mas Bruguière is one of the historic references for red wines from Pic Saint-Loup. A family estate for seven generations, located in Valflaunès at the heart of the AOP Pic Saint-Loup, between the eponymous peak and the Hortus cliff, it produces organic wines from the Languedoc that have contributed since the 1970s to building the reputation of this northerly appellation.

It was Guilhem Bruguière who, in 1974, left the cooperative and vinified his first cuvées independently — a pioneering move in a Languedoc still dominated by mass production. His son Xavier Bruguière took over the estate in 1999, after training at Château La Liquière in Faugères. He now manages his twelve hectares under certified organic farming, with soil cultivation, gravity-fed vatting and ageing in large oak foudres.

The wines of Mas Bruguière stand out for their freshness and aromatic precision. The cuvée La Grenadière, an age-worthy red wine made from old Syrah vines on limestone soils, is the most sought-after from the estate. L'Arbouse offers a more immediate, indulgent and floral red. The white Les Mûriers, made from Vermentino, Marsanne and Roussanne, is one of the rare age-worthy whites from Pic Saint-Loup.
The vintages 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2022 rank among the finest achievements of the estate.
