Vinum Wine Magazine January - 1
Vinum Wine Magazine
Malescot is always a wine with a distinctive character of its own, following only one model: itself. That is also true of the 2010: surprisingly fiery, rich and rounded for the year, yet very fresh, dense, full and long, from late-ripening fruit and with a noticeable proportion of Merlot in the blend.

Wine Spectator March - 2014
Wine Spectator
A little woody at present, with a youthful raw edge, as notes of singed sandalwood and alder generously frame a core of dark cherry, plum and blackcurrant fruit. It has length and drive, with a lingering smouldering quality. Once it has fully settled, it should rank among the AOC’s top examples from 2011.

Falstaff February - 2022
Falstaff
Dark ruby-garnet, with a deep core, purple reflections and a delicate watery rim. Delicate dark berry fruit, with some liquorice and truffle. Medium complexity, blackberries, vivid tannins, a fresh structure and dark minerality. The finish is persistent, and it has some ageing potential.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
A solid wine in a difficult vintage, deep in colour, with liquorice, coffee bean, black cherry, flowers and truffle on the nose. It offers soft, rounded textures and a lush, rounded finish that is slightly short.

This wine feels solid, its tannins forming a base for juicy red- and dark-berry flavours. It has a dry character and a dense finish.

Château Malescot Saint Exupery

Château Malescot St. Exupery is a wine estate of 45 hectares including 30 ha of vines, located in Margaux in the Gironde. In the Margaux AOC, it is classified as a third growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The grape variety composition is: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. The harvesting is done manually and vinification lasts 4 to 6 weeks, favoring long vatting periods. The wines are aged for 16 months in new oak barrels. The wines are fined with egg whites and unfiltered.
