The filling level was into the neck. The cork was soaked and almost slid into the bottle, but came out in one piece. The wine was medium to light garnet in colour and offered blackcurrant, bell pepper, vegetal notes, cedar, tobacco, spices, cinnamon and herbaceous notes as well as hints of coffee, chocolate and stony mineral notes on the nose and palate, with medium-level acidity, mostly resolved tannin and good length. The wine had moderate concentration and thus had difficulties standing up to our steak, but it was balanced, had good complexity and drank well on its own. Better on day one than on day two. Drink now.
