Very rich for the vintage, with fig and currant paste notes leading the way for more typical iron and coffee bean elements. The long finish pumps out fleshy fruit and a great tangy minerality, with ample structure for cellaring. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

The 2004 Belle Hélène boasts waves of creamy raspberry fruit framed by wonderfully supple tannins. Long-lasting on the finish, it's already delicious et should develop additional complexity.
