expert's opinions
Deep dark ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, blackcurrant and soft fruit jam, fresh plum, fine spice notes, vanilla, an inviting bouquet. Juicy cherry on the palate, fresh and racy, good complexity, fine blackberry note, juicy, zesty finish, fine nougat aftertaste, good potential.

Beautiful blackberry and chocolate aromas follow through to a full body, with soft, round tannins and a pretty finish, though lacks a little bit at the end.

Glowing dark ruby. Aromatic, sweet and toasty on the nose. Well balanced though a little dry and without massive concentration. Easy claret but no socks will be knocked off. Some tannin still in evidence.

Earthy, peppery tobacco, cedar and lead pencil notes on the nose. Close to ready for its prime time debut, this medium/full bodied, classically styled Pauillac delivers a straight forward, blast of sweet, juicy, crisp, fresh cassis in the finish. The wine was made from a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot.

Château informations
Château Haut-Batailley is a Bordeaux wine estate of 22 hectares located in Pauillac in Gironde. It produces Fifth Classified Growths in the 1855 Médoc classification.
The estate was purchased by the Borie family, who also own Châteaux Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Ducru-Beaucaillou. Currently managed by François-Xavier Borie, the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in oak barrels, partially new (30 to 40% depending on the year). The second wine is called Château La Tour L'Aspic.
