A little smoky and indistinct on the nose – smudgy. Rose-petal scents. Very heavy and sweet. Super rich. Thick and dense. BIG!!!!!!

Magazine RVF It has retained its refined style, very Barsac, its digestible sweetness, its elegant and fine balance, with a splendid roasted note. Its length is impressive. It still needs further ageing to fully blossom.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Pineapple, candied orange rind and apricots coated with vanilla custard and honey create the aromatics. There is a vibrancy to the fruit that keeps it uplifting from start to finish, making this the perfect sweet treat. This is drinking really at 15 years of age.

Typically light, elegant and floral edged nose to Coutet, with citrus, minerals and light but fine, apricotty botrytis. Richer on the palate, with waxy botrytis texture and lush with nectarine, ripe mango and good length. Very fine, with lovely balance and a bit of oomph inthe finish.

Lots of lemon and maple syrup on the nose, with dried apricots. Full-bodied, with a very sweet and rich palate of candied lemon and orange rinds and a long finish. Beautifully sticky. Not quite as exciting as from barrel but clearly outstanding.

Château Coutet
Château Coutet

Château Coutet is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the Barsac area. The Château has over 38 hectares of vines primarily growing Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle varieties. Coutet is a Sauternes Premier Cru Classé in the Sauternes classification of classified growths.

As at Château d'Yquem, the old vertical presses are still in use and the must, after settling, is vinified in new barrels. Château Coutet produces a nectar of exceptional longevity. Under Marcel Baly's direction since 1977, the wine has gained in liqueur richness while maintaining its freshness and grace.

The best vintages of the Château are the 1929 and 1949 vintages, the 1959 wines, the 1961 vintage, the 1989 vintage, the 1990 classified growths, 2000 grand cru wines and the young 2005 vintage.
