Wine Spectator March - 2004
Wine Spectator
Sleek and racy, with a beautiful structure of very fine tannins and ripe fruit. There are minerals, currants and berries throughout, yet it's subtle and caressing. Lovely wine. I like this as much as the 2000.

Jean-Marc Quarin April - 2003
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red colour. Good intensity. Bordeaux. Medium intensity nose. Fruity. Floral. Fresh, fresher than Petit Mouton. Creamy. Fine. Pure. Round on the attack then caressing, slender and juicy, this wine displays richness and even takes on a certain power from the mid-palate onwards. It advances dynamically and finishes tannic but coated. This is a wine with flesh and slightly less aromatic charm.

Vibrant, medium bodied with a bright, red berry quality to the fruit, the wine is probably close to fully mature. The wine was produced from an unusual blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Jeannie Cho Lee March - 2013

This is a youthful Clerc-Milon that is still somewhat closed. Although the aromatics are open, the palate still has a wall of stern, firm tannins that dominate. The wine did open up during the evening after about an hour suggesting that those who plan to drink this wine now should decant it for about an hour. Classic Pauillac aromatics of cassis and cedar with hint of violets. Moderately long finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Tasted on three separate occasions, this 2001 did not perform nearly as well from bottle as it did from cask. A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc, it exhibits aromas reminiscent of a Starbuck espresso, melted liquorice, black currants, cherries, cedar, a notion of dried herbs, and elevated oak.

Quite pale mid red. Curiously ripe on the nose. Fresh, vigorous on the palate – just medium weight but complete and satisfactory. Long and well balanced. Bright fruit. Long term.

Château Clerc Milon
Since 1933, in Pauillac, Médoc, Société Baron Philippe de Rothschild has been driven by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its category. With its Château wines, which it manages, such as the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, and its brilliant seconds Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac. Clerc Milon is a very fine Pauillac, with a beautiful aromatic complexity. Notes of currants, violet, freshly picked berries with a hint of vanilla and mineral are found on the nose and palate. Clerc Milon is very well positioned to be among the best vintages of this estate. Generally quite early, the 1998 Clerc Milon is already delicious. It promises to be dense and full-bodied, and, endowed with incredible charm, it intoxicates you with subtle and intense aromas with unparalleled precision. A great, accessible Pauillac.
