Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red colour. Medium intensity. Slight evolution. Medium intensity nose. Notes of dead leaves. Slightly herbal tea-like. On swirling, more animal nuances. Soft attack. Château Beauregard
Château Beauregard has a complex terroir of gravel mixed with clay and sand; a classic grape variety that combines predominantly Merlot (65%) with Cabernets for tannic contribution and finesse (30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon); Château Beauregard has undergone extensive renovation of the vineyard and cellars undertaken since 1991 by the new owner (Crédit Foncier de France) which should gradually raise this good Pomerol with great potential to the very top rank of the appellation. The choice of delayed harvesting, extended maceration (3 to 5 weeks), and the creation of a second wine already allow us to taste the fruits of renewal: a very dark, almost black color, a bouquet marked by black fruits and quality wood, and a melting flavor on tannins that promise good aging potential
