Domaine Leroy
In 1868, François Leroy founded Maison Leroy. One of his descendants, Henri, purchased half of the Romanée-Conti vineyard in 1942, a highly renowned estate whose wines are still famous worldwide. In 1971, his daughter Lalou Bize-Leroy took over the management of Maison Leroy and was also co-manager of the Romanée Conti estate from 1974 to 1992. It was only in 1988 that the estate was established under the Côtes-de-Nuits appellation after purchasing vineyards from Domaine Noëllat and Domaine Philippe Rémy. From September 1988, all the estate's vineyards have been cultivated and cared for using biodynamic methods.
Today, Maison Leroy produces 8 premier crus and 9 grand crus such as Chambolle-Musigny, Musigny Grand Cru, Corton Charlemagne, Clos de la Roche, Romanée Saint Vivant, Richebourg and Clos-Vougeot. The production of these great wines places Domaine Leroy among the best wine producers in Burgundy.
