The Échézeaux appellation is one of the most prestigious Grands Crus of Burgundy, located at the heart of Vosne-Romanée, in the famous Côte de Nuits. Classified as an AOC Grand Cru since 1937, this appellation of nearly 37 hectares traces its origins back to the 12th century with the monks of Cîteaux. Its vineyard is spread across several climats with varied terroirs, combining limestone, marl and silt, offering remarkable complexity to the wines. Produced exclusively from Pinot Noir, the wines of Échézeaux captivate with their finesse and aromatic depth. When young, they reveal notes of red and black fruits, before evolving towards more complex aromas of spices, undergrowth and truffle. Their ageing potential is generally 10 to 20 years, or even longer for the greatest vintages. Among the most renowned estates of the appellation are Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), Domaine Méo-Camuzet, Domaine Anne Gros and Georges Noëllat, essential references for lovers of great Burgundy wines.
