Château La Tour Blanche is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces sweet white wines. Made from the traditional Sauternes grape varieties - Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle - this wine is the result of a strict selection process. The Château La Tour Blanche harvest, carried out through successive 'tries', requires 5 to 6 passes through the same row to obtain only the best of the Noble Rot. As a Premier Cru Classé of Sauternes, each vintage of Château La Tour Blanche is vinified and aged in entirely new French oak barrels, and is kept for 20 to 24 months. However, the extreme quality policy pursued at Château La Tour Blanche has led to some vintages deemed merely passable not being bottled. This was the case for the 1992, 1993 and 2000 vintages.
Among the domain's finest achievements, the vintages 1929, 1955, 1959 and 1988 are to be favoured. We also recommend the Château La Tour Blanche 1947, La Tour Blanche 1949 and La Tour Blanche 1989.
