Its smooth texture is supported by a hint of acidity, which maintains definition and extends the finish. Smooth and balanced, it's tempting to drink now, but will be even better in a year or two.

The Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2017 reveals itself in the glass with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruits, acacia honey, fresh pastry, crushed mint, citrus oil and blanched almonds. On the palate, it is full, muscular and enveloping, with a deep and multidimensional core, lively acidity and chalky structural matter, concluding with a long and persistent finish. Although this is a rather open and expressive vintage at Ramonet, the Bâtard will certainly benefit from bottle ageing.
