Domaine Christophe Pichon is located in Chavanay, in the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley. Its history is closely connected to that of the region’s most renowned appellations, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph.

For several generations, the Pichon family has cultivated vineyards on the steep hillsides that define the identity of Northern Rhône wines. In the 1960s, Philippe Pichon played a role in the revival of Condrieu. At that time, Viognier was close to disappearing, with only a few hectares still planted. Thanks to the commitment of several growers, including the Pichon family, the appellation gradually regained its place among France’s leading white wine regions. A few decades later, Christophe Pichon joined the family estate. Renowned Terroirs in Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph

The estate’s vineyards extend across several of the Northern Rhône’s leading appellations, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Cornas. In Côte-Rôtie, Syrah is grown on particularly steep hillsides. The granite and gneiss soils contribute to wines with structure, precision and depth. Some vineyard parcels are located in renowned areas of the Côte Blonde, a sector known for producing elegant and refined expressions of Syrah. Further south, Condrieu is the historic home of Viognier. Here, the vines are planted on decomposed granite slopes overlooking the Rhône River. The Condrieu wines offer a classic expression of Viognier.
