Vintages The 1944 vintage: a still cold vintage by Julie Berteloot 20 June 2024 20 June 2024 10.9K views 10.9K Bordeaux The irregular weather (orange in summer and rain at the end of the harvest) makes pleasant, tender and tasty wines. These wines were made during the war, they are elegant, light in color. They represent the year l’année 1944well. Bourgogne The harvest took place following the liberation of Burgundy in mid-September 1944. Despite the rain, joy resounded. The harvest is diluted and watery. Over time, the wines have evolved, they have been transformed. The color remains superficial but the spicy aromas and the body really take hold. Champagne After harvesting in very bad weather, the grapes produced no vintage. Rhône Except in the South, the quality was really not there that year. In this millésime 1944vintage, the wines are light, short and, for the most attractive, rather spicy and tasty. It is somewhat disappointing, but still offers fine and relatively supple red wines. 0 comments 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail You may also like… 1977 Vintage: A Singular Year in the World... 18 September 2026 1997 Vintage: An Early Vintage with Many Facets 24 August 2026 1987 Vintage 3 August 2026 The Legendary Trilogy: Why the 1988, 1989, and... 9 July 2026 The 1926 vintage 6 May 2026 The 1936 vintage 3 April 2026 Rhône: The Greatest Vintages 12 February 2026 The 1946 vintage: a wine of character shaped... 23 January 2026 The 2006 vintage 2 January 2026 Vintage 1956, between frost and rebirth 12 December 2025
