The 1967 vintage is one of those discreet years with some inequalities but still with well-made Grands Crus that can be afforded at a lower cost.

Robert Parker believes that “1967 was a favorable year in Graves, Pomerol and Saint-Emilion for early-harvested Merlot” but otherwise the red wines are not distinguished by exceptional qualities.

First, the year was cold and wet, which did not favor the maturation of the grains and therefore the concentration of sugar. Then the yields were high, but for many châteaux, chaptalization was unavoidable.

Red wines are therefore not the stars of this mixed vintage, but on the contrary, white Bordeaux wines have clearly been favored. Sauternes are clearly in the spotlight and the vintage is rated 18/20. The end of September was very sunny, which allowed for late ripening of the grapes and very favorable climatic conditions for the development of Botrytis. The wines are honeyed, structured and rich.
