Jean-Marc Quarin March - 2008

The score is identical to that awarded en primeur. The wine presents itself as often very coloured, with a fruity, ripe and aromatic nose. Palate beginning tender, developing fruity on a pleasant touch and still aromatic. The novelty is that it finishes without tannic harshness on the finish (less cabernet and more merlot since 2004). This absence of austerity is new for this growth. It makes it more immediately seductive.

Barrel sample. Rather austere, this seems to be old fashioned, rather hard. The aftertaste is tough.

Château Tertre Daugay
TERTRE DAUGAY owes its name to its privileged location. Indeed, in the Middle Ages, a watchtower stood there: thus the people of Saint-Emilion were warned of any aggression. The "TERTRE du GUET" (Watchtower Hill), like a lookout over a sea of vines, has been watching over the reputation of the Château for centuries. The renaissance of Château TERTRE DAUGAY Since 1978, Count Léo de Malet Roquefort has continuously restored and improved the vineyard and winery while preserving a large part of these old vines essential to the quality of great wines. In some plots, there are still some century-old vines, whose fruits receive their richness from several meters deep. Since then, Château Tertre Daugay has continued to confirm its upward progression.
