From a small capped bottle distributed for a zoom tasting. OK this smells really good - dark fruits, dark florals - violet. Definite purple a bit dusty and velvety like an old robe. Summer plums. Salty, beef jerky? Palate enters dark and velvety as well with a nice herbal and plummy fruit. Finish shows salty and herbal with the dark fruit behind it - a bit dried out compared to nose and palate.

Jean-Marc Quarin November - 2005

Very beautiful. Intense. Barely evolved. Superior nose when decanted than not decanted. Fine. Fruity. A hint of wood. Animal. Tar note. Very beautiful caressing entry on the palate, Margaux style, developing on a juicy, fruity and dense body, which advances full, without rigidity or lack of maturity. This wine has flavour! In the finish, it offers a tannicity without granulation, aromatic, still a little woody. I appreciate its absence of harshness. It is one of the wines from which I think we can still expect improvement. Beautiful work in a rather powerful style for a Margaux than aromatic.

Fabulous aromas of vanilla, toasted oak and fruit, ultrafine tannins and a long, caressing finish. All in finesse.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, firm, structured and bordering on austere, the wine is better on the earthy, tobacco, cedar, smoke, cherry and forest infused nose than on the crisp, bright, classic palate. The wine is firm and fresh, with an herbal, leafy leaning to the fruit. Those with a love for truly classic Bordeaux will be more fond of this wine than I am.
