Really fruit forward nose. Brambles and blackberries on the nose; still some noticeable fruit/sweetness. Hint of Jamminess? Not much of that classic cote-rotie ‘meatiness’. On the palate, noticeably high acidity; pretty austere. No jamminess to speak of. At nearly 20 years old the fruit isn’t exactly exuberant, but it doesn’t seem to have yet been replaced by many lovely tertiary notes either.

Domaine Patrick Jasmin
Domaine Patrick Jasmin

The domain Patrick Jasmin, located in the town of Ampuis with the famous estates Gerin and Guigal, produces exclusively Côte-Rôtie. On a little more than 5 hectares, the vineyard is made up of 11 parcels all on the Côte-Rôtie appellation in the Rhône valley. Existing domain for 5 generations, Patrick inherits the knowledge of his father Robert and his grandfather Georges.

Patrick Jasmin's wines are characterized by finesse and elegance. Although these wines are made to be kept for 5 to 20 years, their smoothness and their wide aromatic palette allow to drink these wines in their youth. Grapes used for blending are Syrah (95%) and Viognier (5%). There are floral aromas, notes of blackberry, violet and spice.
