Jancis Robinson February - 2008

Very closed on the day I tasted it in mid December. Extremely firm and a very imposing mouthful. Chewy and extremely backward. Everything was on the finish, on the nose it was as inexpressive as the sulkiest of teenagers.

Wine Enthusiast January - 2009

A rich, mouthfilling, sophisticated wine. The secret is in the balance, with the concentrated fruit flavours—dried apricot, mango and lemon—in just the right proportion. It tastes delicious now, but will certainly age over five years or more.

Falstaff March - 2010
Falstaff
Medium yellow. Delicate floral honey on the nose, ripe yellow peach fruit, a hint of acacia, subtle notes of baby banana, sweet tropical fruit nuances. On the palate, rich and complex, very powerful texture, juicy hints of honeydew melon, very long-lasting, sweet banana fruit on the finish, will benefit from further bottle ageing.

Wine Spectator December - 2008
Wine Spectator
A ripe swath of lime, persimmon, butterscotch and spice notes mark this lush white. It's immediate, with a bright structure, yet remains extremely long and persistent. The finish is its best feature now.

Domaine Leflaive

The Domaine Leflaive produces Burgundy wines and was founded in 1920 by Joseph Leflaive. Initially, he sold his wines to friends, then gradually built up a private clientele. After his death in 1953, the Domaine Leflaive was managed by his four children.

In 1990, Anne-Claude Leflaive took over the management of the estate with Olivier Leflaive, who left the company in 1994 to focus on his own trading business. Today, Anne-Claude Leflaive has full responsibility for the estate, to which she owes its transition to biodynamic cultivation in order to reduce yields and elevate the quality of the already magnificent wines to even greater heights.

Through the selection of growths, the significant size of the plots, and the absolute certainty of style, Domaine Leflaive is the white wine equivalent of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, that is to say, the absolute benchmark in terms of quality.
