Not my favourite chateau but five good notes, rich, fleshy. Touch of coarseness noted in 1994 but showing quite well at a pre-sale tasting: deep; fragrant; ripe, full-bodied, good fruit, pretty well-balanced.

The fully mature 1970 is a fine example of Lascombes--darkly colored, ripe, full bodied, richly fruity, and fleshy. It is a spicy, fragrant, and altogether satisfying mouthful of amply endowed wine.
