Château La Mission Haut Brion
Château La Mission Haut Brion

Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most emblematic estates of Pessac-Léognan, recognised for the depth, longevity and singularity of its red and white wines. Classified Cru Classé de Graves, the château shares with its illustrious neighbour Château Haut-Brion an ancient history and exceptional terroir, whilst asserting its own stylistic identity, often described as more powerful and more earthy.

Set on deep gravel soils mixed with clay and sand, the vineyard benefits from a grape variety dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for the reds, complemented by Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the whites. This diversity allows for precise blending, giving birth to wines of great aromatic intensity, structured yet always balanced.

Since its integration into the Dillon family fold, La Mission Haut-Brion has undergone an exemplary modernisation of its facilities whilst maintaining a respectful approach to the terroir. The winemaking is carried out with great precision, aiming to preserve the expression of the soil and the purity of the fruit.

Major vintages such as Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1947, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1949, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1955, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1982, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1989, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1990, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2000, Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2010, illustrate the estate's ability to produce exceptional wines for ageing, sought after on the fine wine market and recognised for their remarkable evolution over the decades.
